How to Apply (Como Registrarse)

Following these instructions is an important first step towards homeownership.

1. GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

a) Pre-application and Credit Release Form:
Download and fill out the complete pre-application, credit release form and applicant’s certification and authorization page.

b) $ 20 Check or Money Order for Credit Report:
Make check or money order payable to Housing Development Fund. We will not accept cash.

You must bring Copies (we will not accept originals) of all of the following documentation to orientation:

c) Pay Stubs:
Copies of two most recent pay stubs from all sources of income for all wage earners in the household. If you are self-employed, you must provide current Profit & Loss Financial Statement(s).

d) Tax Information:
Copies of two most recent Federal Income Tax returns (Form 1040) for all wage earners in the household, with all schedules and W2 forms must be included with the application.

If you did not file in either tax year, you will be required to complete and sign Form 4506-T so that HDF may obtain income verification from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

e) Copy of the applicant’s and co-applicant’s driver's license or state issued ID card.

2. REGISTER FOR AN ORIENTATION :
Call (203) 969-1830 to sign up for an orientation session. Sessions are 30 minutes long and are provided at the following times and locations:

Mondays: 5:00 pm - Stamford Office (English)
Tuesdays: 8:30 am - Stamford Office (English)
Wednesdays: 12:30 pm and 5:00 pm - Danbury Office (English)
Thursdays: 4:30 pm - Stamford Office (Spanish)

Thursdays: 5:00 pm - Stamford Office (English)

Do not call to schedule orientation until you have all of the required documents.

Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for your documents to be collected.

No one will be admitted late.

Adults only please.

Applications without the required documentation will be returned to the client and he/she will need to reschedule orientation.
